     Our Product lines include Dodge Calibers,  Grand Caravan, Challenger, Charger, Dakota, Durango, Magnum, Nitro, Viper, and of course the Ram series of 1500, 2500, 3500 in 4X2 and 4X4 modles.The Ram 1500 is the full-size Dodge half-ton pickup that is redesigned for 2009 with aggressive style now expected from the Ram but in a more aerodynamic package. The new design includes a body-mounted grille that is canted forward, an all-new aluminum hood with more pronounced power bulge, large headlights that flow back into the front fenders, a front air dam that is fully integrated with the front bumper and a rear spoiler integrated into the tailgate.    The 2009 Ram 1500 features a new multilink mounting design for the rear axle and rear coil springs with forward-facing shock absorber brackets that saves 40 lbs. over the previous leaf-spring design. The boldly styled Ram replaced the previous Dodge pickup in 1994 and tripled Dodge's market share. The Quad Cab was added for the 1998 model year and the Ram was redesigned for 2002. The Mega Cab joined the lineup for 2006 but is replaced for 2009 by the Ram Crew 1500 with a 5-foot 7-inch box. 

     Jeep products include Commander, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, Patriot, and Wrangler.  Two versions of the 2009 Jeep Wrangler are available, a two-door and four-door model, as well as both soft and hard convertible tops. Redesigned in 2007, the 2009 Wrangler retains traditional Jeep styling cues, while still essentially being, as Car and Driver notes, a "cult vehicle."Styling is mostly "familiar," Edmund's remarks. The four-door Unlimited, however, brings a unique silhouette to the world; it "inhabits its own new market niche: the four-door convertible," Automobile Magazine says. USA Today thinks it's "fancy and genteel by Wrangler standards," while Cars.com calls it "refined and masculine," and Edmund's deems it "strangely attractive." Cars.com says that now, with the extra two doors, "You could almost call it a civilized design." Edmund's asserts the "2009 Jeep Wrangler firmly maintains its heritage, image and off-road ability while also being more refined." It's also "larger and more refined" than the last-generation Wrangler Jeep, they add. Automobile Magazine notes some details that disguise the Wrangler's gains in size: "Black plastic fender flares in place of body-color flares help disguise the fact that the Wrangler is nearly half a foot wider overall," they report. The interior of the 2009 Jeep Wrangler's isn't palatial, but it matches its rugged exterior. Especially with the Wrangler, "Jeep interiors aren't the top of the class. They often feature too many bulky plastic surfaces, but considering the rugged nature of the Wrangler, we'll give them a pass," Cars.com says.

   Chrysler products include Sebring and Convertible, Chrysler 300, Town and Country, Caliber, Patriot, Compass and Journey.  Journey is the first midsize crossover in the Dodge family. Its recent arrival in showrooms is driven largely by estimates that sales of the car-based sport-utilities are expected to top 1.2 million by the end of 2009. Crossovers are the vehicles du jour of those who want to haul people and their things with all-wheel-drive security but without the truck-like bumping and bouncing and gas gobbling of midsize SUVs. At a time when Chrysler is preparing to whittle its lineup to some 15-20 models from 30 in five years and sell Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles all from the same dealerships, it's curious why it's adding more new models.

The decision to add the 2009 Journey, built off the same platform as the Sebring and Avenger midsize sedans, was made before equity outfit Cerberus bought Chrysler last year. Cerberus has made the call to whittle offerings and dealers. Needless to say, there won't be a Chrysler "Journey." Journey comes in SE, SXT and R/T trims; front- or all-wheel-drive; a 2.4-liter, 173-horsepower 4-cylinder (SE) or 3.5-liter, 235-h.p., 24-valve V-6 (SXT/R/T); and seating for five or seven. We tested the R/T with the 3.5-liter, AWD and three rows of seats, which looks like a full-grown Dodge Caliber.

The V-6 has decent power but isn't the quickest thing on the road. And fuel economy is a paltry 15 m.p.g. city/22 m.p.g. highway mileage with AWD (16/23 FWD with V-6). Aspen/Durango go hybrid in 2009 to boost mileage. Too bad Journey won't join them.The sports-tuned suspension and oversized 19-inch touring radials minimize jostling in the cabin but not body lean in corners. Forget pinpoint handling, too. Standard stability control with traction control do prevent wander.

But Journey isn't about how quickly or quietly you travel as it is about all the goodies for the trip, items borrowed from other vehicles in its lineup. Consider a two-level glove box with the Chill Zone on top to cool a couple cans of pop. Think a well placed air-conditioning duct. And the Flip 'n Stow front passenger seat with a bottom cushion that lifts to reveal a spot for a purse. Containers under the cargo floor hide more items.
